How the movement started

There are youngsters like cockroaches, who don't get any employment and don't have a place in a profession. Some become media, some become RTI activists, and they start attacking everyone.

CJI Surya Kant · Supreme Court of India · 15 May 2026

The next morning, Abhijeet Dipke, a 30-year-old PR student at Boston University, opened a Twitter account and called it the Cockroach Janata Party. He didn't expect a response. He got a movement.

By 19 May, the party had a website, an anthem, a five-point agenda, and over a lakh registered members. Two sitting MPs — Mahua Moitra and Kirti Azad — publicly signed up. #MainBhiCockroach trended on X for 48 hours straight.

Our ideology, in four words: Secular. Socialist. Democratic. Lazy.

What we stand for

No Rajya Sabha for Retiring CJIs

No sitting Chief Justice should be rewarded with a Rajya Sabha seat after retirement. Judicial independence is non-negotiable.

Every Legit Vote Counts

If a verified voter is struck off the rolls, the Election Commission is accountable — under UAPA, if necessary. Disenfranchisement is terrorism.

55% Women's Reservation

The 33% Nari Shakti Vandan was a beginning. We want it raised to 55% in Parliament and state assemblies.

Political Literacy for Youth

Young Indians have been called too lazy, too online, too cockroach to matter. We are turning that energy into civic action.
