This page exists because the same five emails kept arriving at /contact in the first week: "Where do I get the CJP logo in 1024 px?", "Is there an SVG?", "Can I use it on my college fest poster?", "Does it have a transparent background?", "What's the exact amber colour code?" Below is the answer to all five, in one place, with direct links and the usage rules in plain English.

The two file formats — and when to use which

The CJP logo ships in two formats: SVG (the master) and PNG (raster exports at five sizes). Each one wins in a different context.

Direct asset link

This is the canonical file. Bookmark it. Right-click → Save As. Or fetch programmatically with curl -O https://www.cockroachjantaparty.buzz/img/roach.svg.

Every other file you see online — Twitter avatars, WhatsApp stickers, sticker-pack PNGs, the laptop sticker on a member's haul photo — is an export of this one SVG. The SVG is the truth; everything else is a rasterised shadow of it.

PNG exports — 1024, 512, 256, 128, 64 px

If you need a fixed pixel size, here is the recommended use case per export. All PNGs are transparent.

If you have Inkscape, Figma, or even just a modern browser, you can generate any of these from the master SVG in under 30 seconds. The browser route: open /img/roach.svg, take a screenshot at 100% zoom on a Retina display, crop. For higher fidelity, Figma → "Import SVG" → set frame size → Export PNG @1x or @2x.

Press kit usage rules

For journalists, podcasters, YouTubers, college magazine editors, university debate societies, and anyone publishing a piece about CJP — the logo is free to use. Three small asks:

  1. Attribute when natural. A line like "Logo: Cockroach Janta Party / cockroachjantaparty.buzz" in your caption is sufficient. Not required for opinion pieces; appreciated for news pieces.
  2. Don't recolour beyond the palette. Amber #b8860b, cream background, black as an optional outline. Avoid blue, green, red, saffron — those are reserved for other movements and reading the CJP roach in them is confusing.
  3. Use the version that matches your tone. If you are writing a serious news piece, use the clean SVG. If you are doing satire, the meme-edit versions floating around X are fair game.

Need a higher-res file than 1024 px, a CMYK print version, or a vector EPS? Drop a note via /press with your outlet name and deadline. The volunteer design desk usually replies within 24 hours.

Things you must NOT do with the logo

Three things are off-limits, in line with the manifesto and the published no-sponsors pledge.

  1. No political party endorsements. Don't place the CJP roach beside Congress, BJP, AAP, TMC, SP, BSP, DMK, Shiv Sena or any other party's symbol in a way that suggests merger, alliance, support or opposition. CJP has a no-merger policy by manifesto. The logo follows the same rule.
  2. No commercial reuse outside the official CJP shop. If you want to print and sell CJP-branded tees, mugs, hoodies, stickers, water bottles, badges or notebooks — please coordinate via /press first. The CJP shop runs on thin margins that fund the site; uncoordinated commercial reuse fragments that. (Non-commercial reuse — your own tee, your campus poster, your tote bag for your own use — is free and welcomed.)
  3. No supremacist, violent, casteist or communal edits. The logo is a reclamation of a slur. Using it to slur someone else inverts the entire project. The newsroom reserves the right to ask social platforms to take down such edits.

Outside those three lines, the logo is yours. The whole point of a swarm is that no single roach owns the swarm. If you build a beautiful regional language variant, an animated GIF version, an embroidered patch design, a chowk mural, or a state-chapter badge — tag @cockroachjantaparty on X. The newsroom will signal-boost the good ones.

The file is at /img/roach.svg. The colour is #b8860b. The next step is the join page — free, no card fee, no party line.
