This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all payments accepted by Cockroach Janta Party ("CJP", "we", "us") via the website www.cockroachjantaparty.buzz. It is published in compliance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 (Rule 5(3)) under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and follows industry standards expected by payment infrastructure providers.
1. What We Sell
We sell exactly one paid product:
- CJP Digital Member Badge — a personalised PNG image with the buyer's name and CJP member ID. Price: ₹499 (INR), one-time, inclusive of all taxes. Delivery: digital, emailed after the UPI payment is verified (typically within 24 hours).
Membership of the Cockroach Janta Party itself is and will always be free. No purchase is required to become a member.
2. Payment Method
We accept payment exclusively via Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The exact VPA is revealed only inside the secure checkout once you initiate payment. After payment, buyers submit their UPI Transaction Reference Number (UTR) through our website so we can match the payment to the order. We do not store card numbers, account numbers, or UPI PINs.
3. Cancellation
Because the Member Badge is a digital good delivered by email, an order can be cancelled only before the badge has been generated and emailed. To cancel, write to cjparty@proton.me from the same email address used at checkout, within 2 hours of payment, quoting the UTR. We will refund in full within 5–7 working days.
4. Refunds
Refunds will be issued in the following situations:
- Duplicate payment — you paid twice for the same badge. Refund of the extra amount, in full.
- Payment captured, badge not delivered within 7 days — full refund.
- Badge delivered with an error (e.g. wrong name printed) — at the buyer's choice, we will either re-issue the badge at no cost or refund in full.
- Cancellation requested within 2 hours and before delivery — full refund (see Section 3).
No refunds are issued once the personalised badge has been emailed, except for the error case above. This is because the digital good is consumed on delivery and cannot be "returned".
5. How to Request a Refund
- Email cjparty@proton.me from the email address used at checkout.
- In the subject line, write: "Refund request — UTR <your UTR>".
- In the body, include: your full name, the UTR, the date of payment, and a short description of the reason.
We will acknowledge the request within 48 hours and complete eligible refunds within 5–7 working days from the date of acknowledgement. Refunds are returned to the same UPI handle that initiated the payment.
6. Failed or Pending UPI Payments
If your UPI app shows the payment as "Failed" or "Pending", no refund is needed — the money was not debited to us. If your bank later confirms a debit but the UTR was never submitted on our side, write to us with the UTR and we will either deliver the badge or refund the amount.
7. Chargebacks
Because UPI is an account-to-account push payment, formal chargebacks are processed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) through your bank. If you raise a chargeback against a UPI payment to us, please also email us so we can resolve the dispute amicably; we will provide the UTR and proof of delivery to NPCI if asked.
8. Donations & Petition Signatures
Petition signatures are free and have no payment. Any payment voluntarily made to CJP that is not for the Member Badge is treated as a non-refundable contribution to the colony's operating costs (server, hosting, hand-delivery of petitions). If you contributed by mistake, write to us within 2 hours and we will refund as a goodwill gesture.
