The Intelligence Bureau flagged a 10-day-old satirical party as a threat to national sovereignty. Here is the documented timeline of what they did — and how we fought back.
On May 15, 2026, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant referred to unemployed youth as "cockroaches and parasites" in a public address. Abhijeet Dipke, a Boston University alumnus, founded the Cockroach Janta Party the same day. Within 10 days, 22 million people followed on Instagram. Then the government moved.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT ordered X (formerly Twitter) to withhold @CJP_2029 under Section 69A of the IT Act. The Intelligence Bureau reportedly cited "national security" and "sovereignty of India" as justification — for a party founded 10 days earlier with a cartoon cockroach logo. The Internet Freedom Foundation issued a public statement condemning the block.
The CJP Instagram account — which had grown to 22 million followers — was hacked. The backup account was subsequently suspended. Founder Abhijeet Dipke publicly stated that his personal Instagram was also compromised during the same period.
Founder Abhijeet Dipke publicly confirmed that the cockroachjantaparty.buzz website was taken down. International outlets — Al Jazeera and CBS News — reported the story. The site has since been restored and is fully accessible at this URL.
Founder Abhijeet Dipke filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, through advocate Nakul Gandhi, challenging the blocking of the CJP X account under Section 69A. The petition names X Corp and the Central Government as respondents. Hearing scheduled May 29, 2026 before Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav. Full petition explained →
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh issued a fresh statement today: "Mantri Pradhan must resign" — connecting the NEET 2026 paper leak to the same pattern of government impunity that led to the CJP crackdown. Rahul Gandhi added: "Papers have been leaked 80 times, and the futures of 2 crore young people have been ruined."
The same week CJP was blocked, NEET 2026 was cancelled. The exam — conducted on May 3 — was cancelled on May 7 after a paper leak was confirmed. The CBI has since arrested multiple accused, including Pune-based NTA expert Manisha Havaldar. The refund portal opened May 27, 2026. CJP demanded Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resign for the pattern of failures. The government responded by blocking our platforms.
Student suicides followed the cancellation. Congress called it "a collapse of trust." The National Herald documented demands from student groups. The Supreme Court, on May 25, told NTA it "hasn't learnt its lesson."
